GTA 6 on PC: New Take-Two Comments Renew Expectations for a PC Version
Grand Theft Auto VI is getting closer to its November launch, but one major question remains unanswered: when will GTA 6 arrive on PC?
Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive have officially announced the game for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a release date set for November 19, 2026. A PC version has not been officially announced.
However, recent comments from Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick about the growing importance of PC gaming have renewed discussions about the possibility of a future PC release.
GTA 6 Is Still Not Announced for PC
For now, the official situation is straightforward: GTA 6 is confirmed for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, while a PC version remains unannounced.
Take-Two’s latest fiscal update, published in August 2026, lists Grand Theft Auto VI as a PS5 and Xbox Series X|S release scheduled for November 19. PC is not included in the officially announced platforms.
The company’s June pre-order announcement also lists only PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
That means players should not treat recent comments about PC as confirmation that GTA 6 is coming to computers.
Take-Two Recognizes the Growing Importance of PC
Take-Two has previously acknowledged how important the PC market has become for major releases.
In comments reported by VGC, CEO Strauss Zelnick explained that PC has grown significantly as a platform for major games. He also pointed out that Rockstar has historically launched its biggest games on consoles before bringing them to PC.
This distinction is important.
The company is clearly aware of the size of the PC market, but that does not necessarily mean GTA 6 will launch on PC at the same time as the console versions.
Rockstar Has a History of Delayed PC Releases
One of the biggest reasons players expect GTA 6 to eventually reach PC is Rockstar’s release history.
Grand Theft Auto V originally launched on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 before later arriving on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
Red Dead Redemption 2 followed a similar strategy, launching on consoles before coming to PC approximately a year later.
Because of that history, many PC players expect Rockstar to take a similar approach with GTA 6.
However, Rockstar has not announced that it will follow the same schedule this time.
Why Would Rockstar Launch GTA 6 on Consoles First?
Launching GTA 6 on consoles first would allow Rockstar to focus its initial release on two major platforms.
The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions are already officially scheduled for November 19, 2026.
A separate PC version could require additional optimization, testing and technical work because of the huge variety of PC hardware configurations.
Rockstar could also choose to use a later PC release to introduce additional graphical features or technical improvements.
None of these possibilities have been confirmed by Rockstar, but they help explain why a simultaneous PC launch should not be assumed.
GTA 6 Could Still Be a Major PC Release
Even without an official announcement, a future PC version would put GTA 6 in front of a massive audience.
Take-Two’s own comments show that PC has become an increasingly important platform for major games.
The company also continues to support PC versions of other major titles across its portfolio. Its current lineup includes games such as NBA 2K27 and other projects with PC releases.
This makes the PC market an important part of Take-Two’s long-term strategy, even though GTA 6’s currently announced platforms remain consoles.
When Could GTA 6 Come to PC?
There is currently no official PC release date for GTA 6.
Rockstar has only confirmed the November 19, 2026 launch for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Any specific PC date circulating online should therefore be treated as speculation unless it comes directly from Rockstar Games or Take-Two.
The company could announce more platforms closer to the console launch or at a later date, but there is no confirmed timetable at this point.
GTA 6 Release Date Remains November 19, 2026
While the PC situation remains uncertain, the console release is clear.
Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The game will take players back to Vice City and introduce Jason and Lucia as its central protagonists. Rockstar describes the story as taking place across the state of Leonida.
The upcoming release is also being supported by a major music rollout, including the recently announced Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, which will feature 34 original tracks and launch alongside the game.
PC Players Will Have to Wait for an Official Announcement
For now, the answer remains the same: GTA 6 has not been officially announced for PC.
Take-Two’s recognition of the growing importance of PC gaming keeps the possibility alive, while Rockstar’s history of bringing major games to PC after their console launches gives players another reason to expect a future release.
But until Rockstar confirms the platform, there is no official PC release date to report.
