Dylan Faden Takes Center Stage

Unlike the original Control, the sequel puts Dylan Faden at the center of the story.

Dylan was introduced in the first game as Jesse Faden’s brother and spent years under the control and observation of the Federal Bureau of Control.

In CONTROL Resonant, Dylan emerges during a massive paranatural crisis and must learn to control new abilities while trying to understand what is happening around him.

His search for Jesse is also one of the central elements of the new story.

Manhattan Has Become Completely Distorted

One of the biggest changes in CONTROL Resonant is its setting.

The game moves beyond the Oldest House and introduces a warped version of Manhattan, where supernatural forces have changed the way the city works.

Remedy describes the world as being on the brink of paranatural annihilation.

Different areas are designed as large zones containing side activities, hidden encounters and optional discoveries.

The environment can also break the normal rules of physics.

Gravity Anomalies, for example, can alter orientation and movement, creating spaces where players have to rethink how they navigate the world.

A New Paranatural Threat

The Hiss and the Mold are not the only threats in the sequel.

A mysterious cosmic force is now affecting reality itself, while another form of resonance plays an important role in the new crisis.

According to Remedy, these forces are warping Manhattan and creating a situation that Dylan must attempt to contain.

This continues the series’ focus on supernatural phenomena while expanding the scale of the world beyond the Federal Bureau of Control.

Gameplay Combines Action and RPG Elements

Remedy describes CONTROL Resonant as an action-adventure RPG.

Dylan has access to supernatural abilities that can be used both during combat and while exploring the game’s environments.

The gameplay footage released by Remedy has also shown larger areas, optional activities, hidden encounters and locations affected by supernatural anomalies.

The result is a game that keeps the supernatural action of Control while expanding its exploration and progression systems.

New Abilities for Dylan

Dylan’s powers are one of the most important parts of the sequel.

His abilities allow him to interact with the environment and deal with threats in ways that go beyond conventional weapons.

Remedy has shown gameplay featuring Dylan fighting supernatural enemies while navigating areas where reality itself appears unstable.

As the story progresses, players will be able to unlock the full potential of Dylan’s paranatural abilities.

CONTROL Resonant Supports New Game Plus

Remedy has also confirmed that CONTROL Resonant will include a New Game Plus mode.

This gives players another way to experience the game after completing the main adventure and provides additional replay value beyond the initial campaign.

The inclusion of New Game Plus is particularly interesting for players who want to experiment with Dylan’s abilities and progression systems after finishing the story.

PC Technology and Graphics

PC players will also have access to advanced graphical features.

Remedy has announced that CONTROL Resonant will launch with support for NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 and path tracing.

These technologies are designed to improve image quality and lighting effects on compatible hardware.

The game is also built using Remedy’s proprietary technology, continuing the studio’s emphasis on detailed environments, cinematic presentation and advanced visual effects.

Pre-Order Bonuses

Players who pre-order CONTROL Resonant can receive additional items.

The pre-order bonuses include the Hiss Corruption Outfit for Dylan and the Pickpocket’s Tool Artifact.

PlayStation players also have access to an additional exclusive outfit according to the announced edition details.

Digital Deluxe Edition

The Digital Deluxe Edition includes several extras beyond the base game.

The package includes:

  • CONTROL Resonant
  • Digital Artbook
  • Original Soundtrack
  • Untapped Artifact
  • Starter Resource Bundle
  • AWE Mission Outfit

The edition is priced at $69.99 on Steam and Xbox.

CONTROL Resonant Is One of Remedy’s Biggest Games

Remedy has described CONTROL Resonant as its most expansive game to date.

The sequel significantly expands the world established by the original Control, introducing a new protagonist, a much larger setting and a new supernatural crisis.

Instead of keeping the story contained inside the Oldest House, the sequel allows players to explore a distorted Manhattan filled with paranormal phenomena and optional discoveries.
