Resident Evil 2, 3 and 4 Are Coming to Nintendo Switch 2 This October

Capcom is expanding its presence on Nintendo’s new console.

During today’s Nintendo Direct, the company announced that three Resident Evil remakes are getting native Nintendo Switch 2 versions, with all three scheduled to launch on October 16.

The games are Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition, Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition, giving Nintendo players a new way to experience some of the most popular entries in Capcom’s survival horror franchise.

Three Resident Evil Games Arrive on Switch 2

The announcement brings three major Resident Evil titles to Nintendo’s latest hardware as native releases.

Previously, Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 were available on the original Nintendo Switch through cloud versions.

With the Switch 2 releases, players will now be able to experience the games as native versions designed specifically for Nintendo’s new console.

The lineup also includes Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition, bringing the modernized version of Capcom’s acclaimed survival horror classic to Switch 2.

A New Way to Experience Resident Evil

The arrival of the three games gives Nintendo players access to several different eras of the Resident Evil franchise.

Resident Evil 2 follows Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield as they attempt to survive the Raccoon City disaster.

Resident Evil 3 puts players in control of Jill Valentine as she attempts to escape the city while being hunted by the terrifying Nemesis.

Meanwhile, Resident Evil 4 follows Leon on a completely different mission, taking the series into a more action-focused direction while maintaining its survival horror roots.

With the three games launching together, Switch 2 owners will have a substantial collection of Resident Evil experiences to explore.

Capcom Continues Expanding Its Nintendo Lineup

The announcement also highlights Capcom’s continued effort to bring its major franchises to Nintendo’s latest hardware.

Bringing native versions of these three games to Switch 2 expands the reach of some of Capcom’s most recognizable titles and gives players another way to experience the remakes.

For longtime Resident Evil fans, the releases also offer an opportunity to revisit familiar stories on a new Nintendo platform.

For newcomers, they provide an accessible entry point into one of gaming’s most influential horror franchises.

Resident Evil Comes to Switch 2 on October 16

All three titles are scheduled to launch on October 16.

That means Nintendo Switch 2 players will soon have access to Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition, Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition in native versions.

Capcom’s latest announcement could also be a sign of more major releases coming to Nintendo’s new console as publishers continue expanding their libraries.

For now, however, one thing is certain:
