Dune: Part Three Releases New Hans Zimmer Track Featuring Timothée Chalamet
The world of Arrakis is getting a new musical chapter. Dune: Part Three has released “Desert Chant,” the first single from the upcoming film’s soundtrack, composed by Hans Zimmer and featuring a vocal performance by actor Timothée Chalamet.
Released on October 20, 2026, the track gives fans an early preview of the sound accompanying the next chapter of Denis Villeneuve’s science-fiction saga.
What Is “Desert Chant”?
“Desert Chant” begins with Chalamet humming before gradually building into a powerful, epic chant. The progression creates an intense atmosphere that fits the dramatic tone of the Dune universe.
The track was released by WaterTower Music and is available on major digital music platforms. Rather than serving as a conventional pop single, it offers a preview of the musical atmosphere created for the film.
The collaboration between Zimmer and Chalamet also highlights the connection between the movie’s music and its central character, Paul Atreides.
Hans Zimmer Returns to Arrakis
Hans Zimmer returns as composer after working on the soundtracks for the previous two Dune films. His music has played an important role in establishing the franchise’s distinctive atmosphere, combining powerful orchestral arrangements, electronic textures, and unusual vocal elements.
For the third film, Zimmer once again collaborates with director Denis Villeneuve to develop the sound of Arrakis and its complex political and spiritual conflicts.

What Is Dune: Part Three About?
Directed by Denis Villeneuve, Dune: Part Three takes place nearly two decades after Paul Atreides seized control of the Imperium. Now emperor, Paul must face the consequences of his rule as new threats emerge and old relationships become increasingly complicated.
Timothée Chalamet returns as Paul Atreides, alongside Zendaya, Florence Pugh, Jason Momoa, Rebecca Ferguson, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Robert Pattinson.
The film adapts elements of Frank Herbert’s Dune Messiah and continues the story established in the first two movies.
When Does Dune: Part Three Release?
Dune: Part Three is scheduled to premiere in North American theaters and IMAX on December 18, 2026, with international releases beginning on December 16.
The release of “Desert Chant” gives fans a first taste of the film’s soundtrack before its theatrical debut. With Zimmer returning and Chalamet contributing vocals, the track offers another reason for audiences to look forward to the next chapter of the franchise.
